Born in Armenia, Mr. Megrikian began his hospitality career in 1999 at the Marriott Armenia, working in the food & beverage and banquet departments. He then spent over 15 years with Marriott, Hilton and IHG brands in the United States, holding management positions in room operations, events, and sales.
Mr. Megrikian has a demonstrated passion for hospitality and exceptional service, and has been repeatedly recognized for his leadership skills.
As the Director of Sales & Marketing of the InterContinental Beverly Hills, working closely with tourism boards, he positioned the hotel as a premier destination for international markets, helping drive record leisure and business bookings.
Mr. Megrikian then joined the SLS Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Beverly Hills, as Director of Sales & Marketing. The hotel was voted "Best Hotel in the World" by Condé Nast in 2019, and its restaurant, SOMNI, earned two Michelin stars.
Most recently, Mr. Megrikian served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for SZN Management USA, overseeing sales, marketing, and owner's projects for the Sheraton Universal and The L.A. Grand Hotels.
Throughout his career, Mr. Megrikian has earned numerous accolades for his leadership and development work. He received the 2014 SITE (Society for Incentive Travel Excellence) Kevin Forde Spirit Award and served as co-chair of SITE's Young Leaders program. In 2017, Meetings Today Magazine named him a "Meetings Trendsetter" for his passion and dedication to exceptional service.
Mr. Megrikian's personal interests include travel, aviation, and spending time with his family. His global perspective is underscored by travel to over 40 countries and proficiency in three languages.
With a degree in Recreation, Tourism and Hospitality Management from the prestigious California State University, Northridge, Mr. Shin has dedicated his career to the world of hospitality. This field is more than just a job for him - it is a true passion that he has cultivated over the past decade through extensive experience in various management roles at renowned hotel chains such as Marriott, IHG, and Loews.
